Ryanair low cost flights
Anyone who has watched TV in recent years or been on the Internet knows there are price wars going on in everything. Who has the cheapest car? Who has the cheapest food? The list goes on and on. One of the biggest price wars that have been going on of late has been between the airlines of the world. Even smaller companies are now competing with their larger more famous counterparts to provide service and satisfaction to their customers at a competitive rate, all while still being able to turn a profit and stay afloat. One of the best tools available to potential travelers is advertisement. In this day and age most learn of things through the Internet. It was through the Internet that I learned of RyanAir. RyanAir is a small company that is based in Dublin, Ireland formed by a young lady named Christy Ryan (who named the airline), Liam Lonergan (owner of a tour business), and Tony Ryan (businessman). They have been providing service to patrons all over the United Kingdom since 1985. This company began doing short jaunts in small planes, but soon worked its way up to larger venues. In 1991 the company went through a rebirth and was restructured. Ever since this occurred both RyanAir's profit margin and passenger quantity has been rising. They've gone from serving a mere million people per annum in 1991 to forty-three million in 2006. To grow at such an alarming rate they must have two things. They offer great rates and great service. I'd venture to say that the reason behind this is they are one of the safest airlines in the United Kingdom. I think it safe to say that they may even be the safest airline in the world, (a title once held by Quantas). In 2006 two things occurred which expanded RyanAir's business. In the fall of 2006 RyanAir successfully acquired Aer Lingus to expand their fleet of jets. Later that same Fall RyanAir created a Mexican subsidiary called RyanMex to provide low cost service to Mexico and Latin American areas. Plans for the future include longer haul flights to the Americas and adding some of the new Boeing 787 and Aerobus A350 XWB to their fleet. The proposed name for a new subsidiary to be formed by 2012 is RyanAtlantic. RyanAir started out as a small family owned business which only had one route, but has now grown to a larger company having several different geographical areas covered all while still providing top service for bottom dollar.
